SPATEX 2013

No matter what kind of leisure project, facility or educational establishment you are involved with there will be something of interest to you at the annual SPATEX Exhibition (now in its 17th Year)
Working once again in conjunction with The Institute of Swimming Pool Engineers there will be workshops throughout the 3 day event covering every aspect of wet and dry leisure operations from sauna and steam to commercial pool procedures.
There’s a raft of talks from a number of distinguished industry experts and all delegates will be issued with certificates of attendance. Subjects include:
• New Technology – improving standards, reducing costs.
• Euro Code 2 – now that Euro Code 2, which affects the construction of swimming pool shells, has replaced BS 8007 and BS 8110, what are the most important changes to note?
• Interactive splash zones and water features – from design to operation.
• How to make the pool green! – conserving heat, energy, water and treatment products.
• Keeping your balance – water that is!
Plus many other worthy subjects vital to wet leisure operators, builders and designers. From stretch ceilings to dry build pool systems and on to safe wet and dry, splash and play floor surfacing there really is something for everyone.
More exciting news for SPATEX 2013 is that an exclusive partnership has been formed with the STA, one of the world’s largest swim teaching and lifesaving organisations, who deliver high quality training across four key business areas – Swimming Teaching, Lifesaving, First Aid and Leisure Management.
“SPATEX 2013 is where The STA will officially launch three new Pool Plant qualifications”, STA’s Theo Millward told The Landscaper “The new courses, which sit on the QCF National Framework with OFQUAL approval, cover Level 2 Awards in Swimming Pool Water Testing and Swimming Pool Water Treatment.”
“The new Level 3 Pool Plant Operations qualification will also uniquely contain chapters on Spas, Interactive Play Features, Energy Conservation and Health & Safety.”
“All the new Pool Plant qualifications will be supported with extensive learning materials, including a new manual that covers all of the new unitised courses in detail, supported with user-friendly colour images and diagrams. The manual will also be available to download as an E-book.
The Pool Water Treatment Advisory Group (see www.pwtag.org) will be manning a stand for the first time to promote their new Code of Practice. The PWTAG presence will provide visitors with an opportunity to have discussions with leading experts in all fields of swimming and spa pools.
With many major leisure equipment suppliers exhibiting and an array of new products on view there is no better place to visit than SPATEX to ensure your facility is at the cutting edge of technical and environmental advantage in the leisure workplace.
