Keeping Surfaces Safe and Slip-free ……

Tracmaster has expanded its winter solutions range with the introduction of the PLS 180 Salt Spreader. With 14,631 recorded incidents of accidents on untreated paths in Britain during the winter of 2011-12, keeping areas clear that need to be accessible is of utmost importance to public authorities and contractors, and this new addition reinforces Tracmaster’s commitment to public safety.
Whether Astroturf, car parks, paths, driveways or access roads, Tracmaster’s snow clearance machinery tackles snow and ice in four ways – from gritting surfaces and pushing aside and sweeping snow, to throwing and propelling it up to16m away:
1. The NEW PLS 180 Salt Spreader, designed as an attachment for BCS Two-Wheel Tractors,
BCS Crusader Power Scythes and the BCS Commander, can handle salt, sand, granulated fertiliser or similar dry material. Providing accurate salting up to 6-7 metres, the width of the spread can be easily controlled by the stainless steel deflector, ensuring only the areas that need salt are treated. Meanwhile, a large 100kg capacity plastic hopper provides improved salt flow and reduces the number of trips to the salt bins.
2. The Snow Plough is suitable for many different applications and is easy to manoeuvre, simply shovelling snow in its path and thus creating an access way. It is easily adjustable between three positions allowing the snow to be pushed to either side or straight ahead.
3. The Snow Brush effectively clears a surface of snow making the terrain instantly safe for pedestrians and cars. Designed to manage heavy duty sweeping applications, the snow brush is ideal for clearing block paving, synthetic turf, car parks and yards, as well as clearing snow from pavements and tarmac.
4. The Snow Blower has an impressive propulsion capability. It will clear all types of snow from frozen chunks to wet snow, breaking it up and propelling it up to 16m away with its easy to angle stainless steel discharge chute. It also features adjustable skid shoes for straightforward height selection depending on terrain, including gravel paths and driveways.
Last winter Tracmaster expanded the range of BCS units that are compatible with its
snow clearing machinery, with the addition of the BCS 720 and the BCS 740. These latest additions mean that there are now up to 25 different attachments available for use with the range, offering customers increased versatility by allowing them to select exactly the right machine to both clear snow and offer year-round groundcare.
The addition of the two new 700 series units to the range mean Tracmaster’s BCS snow clearing machines now come in four sizes. The BCS 720 has a capacity to clear up to 2,500m² of snow per hour, but it is not only great at clearing snow it is also a fantastic rotavator. Top of the range, the BCS 740 is now Tracmaster’s most powerful snow clearing machine able to clear 4,000m² of snow per hour with the added versatility of being able to operate over 25 attachments. Meanwhile, the established 600 series includes the entry level BCS 615L, which is compact and easy to use, clearing up to 2,500 per hour; and Tracmaster’s popular BCS 630 that will clear up to 4,000m².
As well as offering specialised snow clearance, Tracmaster’s BCS range is also capable of operating a raft of other groundcare implements. With over 25 attachments available to use with the power units the machines can be used all year round, providing great value for money and incredible versatility. These implements include: scythe; rotary mower; mulching mower; flail mower; hay rake; chipper-shredder; and power brush.
Alex Pitt, Sales and Marketing Director at Tracmaster, said “At Tracmaster we develop our product range to meet customer demand and the need for public safety. As a result, this year we have introduced the new PLS 180 salt spreader and added two further power units to our snow clearing range allowing us to offer the versatility of over 25 different attachments. We have also designed and developed new safety features for our snow clearing machinery aimed specifically at the local authority sector.”
