Zero emission truck

Another world first for Smith Electric Vehicles – this time, the largest electric truck with a tipper body ever produced in the world.
This 7,500kg GVW vehicle has a 120 kilowatt (kw) electric motor powered by an 84kw battery pack. It is capable of 50mph and 100+ miles on one battery charge.
The ultra-lightweight aluminium tipper body gives the vehicle a payload of 2,400kg – on a par with the conventional
diesel tippers that Balfour Beatty deploys.
Smith Electric Vehicles is the world’s largest manufacturer of zero emission vans and trucks.
The vehicles are zero emission at the point of use, meaning no greenhouse gas emissions such as carbon dioxide, but also none of the exhaust air pollutants such as PM10s and nitrous oxide, proved by medical science to take years off the lives of city dwellers.
The product range is designed for intra-urban applications such as home shopping delivery, parcel and post delivery, 3PL logistics, construction, utilities, airports and public sector operations.
Hundreds of Smith vehicles are already in operation with major corporations and organisations such as the Royal Mail, Sainsbury’s, BSkyB, Carlsberg, DHL, TNT, Scottish & Southern Energy and now Balfour Beatty.
