GreenMech’s Mike Lidster hands over the 220 PTO wood chipper to David Sutton.

Howletts Wild Animal Park in Kent , part of The Aspinall Foundation, have recently taken delivery of a GreenMech 220 tractor mounted wood chipper. The foundation also runs Port Lympne Wild Animal and Safari Park, also in Kent and operate a shared services policy. The chipper will be used to produce chip of a consistent quality for use in the play ground areas at the two sites. The chips will also form part of the substrate base in some of the animal enclosures. The foundation has around 160 acres of coppice woodland which provides the raw material for the chips. Commenting on the new machine David Sutton, Howletts’ Head Gardener, said: “We needed an efficient, cost effective machine – the GreenMech performs well, is British built and was competitively priced.
