As part of the national Playbuilder scheme, Solihull Borough Council were allocated £1.1million in 2008 by the Government, which will see improvements to 25 play areas in Solihull over a two year period.
Adventurous and risky play is an important part of growing up and is integral to helping children to stay happy and healthy, develop social skills and learn how to safely manage risk. Sutcliffe Play’s brief was to design play areas with equipment that challenges children and encourages them to take risks in a safe environment.
To date a total of 15 of 16 Playbuilder sites for Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council have been completed by Sutcliffe Play, following design and build tender.
