The APF Exhibition is the UK’s largest showcase for woodlands, forestry, arboriculture, fencing, trees and timber.
Over 250 exhibitors and 20000 visitors are expected over the three days. There will be over £30 million and two miles of working machinery frontage to see in action. Everything from seed to sawmill. £300k automatic tree harvesters and firewood processors, whole tree chipping and mulching, stump grinding and mobile sawmills, charcoal burning, clog making, pole lathe turning, hazel hurdle making, willow weaving, traditional Windsor chairmaking, oak swill basket making, log cabins and many other greenwood crafts. Vintage steam driven sawmills and other machinery.
You will to able to see some world class, rarely seen, and exciting competitions and events including the Husqvarna World 25m pole climbing championships, the A W Jenkinson and UPM Tilhill European Chainsaw Carving Championships, the European Horse Logging Championships, the World Log To Leg Pole Lathe turning championships, displays of the five disciplines of the World Logging Championships and the UK forwarder driving championships. The Exhibition attracts large media interest with the BBC, ITV and satellite stations covering the events.
Ian Millward, the Exhibition Secretary, commenting on the build up to date said “ We are very pleased with the response and bookings so far. We have sold over 3400m of demonstration, that’s over 2 miles of working machinery. The original static display area has sold out and we have had to extend it due to demand and there is still 3 months to go before the event! The level of bookings to date exceeds those at the same time in 2010. We are delighted!”
