The Allmand-Smith family, who own and run ‘Stormguard’ – manufacturers of rain and draught excluders and aluminium rainwater systems – are all committed gardeners with large gardens. The family have decided to introduce ‘The Stormguard Awards’.
The awards will be made on an annual basis for privately funded landscaping schemes of various sizes in private gardens & estates. The awards will be judged on the basis of a combination of good design, good construction and value for money in the aesthetic improvement the scheme has achieved. The schemes will be run and judged by the family assisted by Graham Lampkin of Grounded. It is hoped that the presentations can be arranged to take place at a prestigious event already in the calendar.
The concept is that the scheme will be the winner, not one of the individual parties involved. This means that they can be designed and built professionally or by the owners, and this will be taken into consideration. There will be a first prize of £500.
