Lifetime Achievement

A lifetime of dedication to landscaping has accumulated in one of the industry’s highest accolades for Norman Hambrook, Managing Director of Southampton-based Hambrooks.
He received the Horticulture Week Lifetime Achievement Award at the Landscape and Amenity Awards held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.
A founder member, past chair and active committee member of the Association of Professional Landscapers (APL), Norman has been in the landscaping business for nearly 40 years.
Today he employs over 80 staff and is one of the country’s leading independently owned landscaping companies in the UK.
Norman has continually evolved his business to meet the demands of the market and the economy with his contribution to improve and develop standards within the landscaping industry over four decades, immense. He is renowned for giving freely of his time throughout his career to help nurture new talent and is currently looking to set up a Landscape Training Academy at the company’s head office in Curdridge.
On receiving the award Norman said, “Receiving this award is overwhelming and I feel deeply touched and honoured. My passion for the landscaping business has never waned in nearly 40 years and now my aim is to encourage the return of apprenticeships and help mentor the next generation of talent.”
