Capel Manor College is the largest land-based college in London, offering courses and apprenticeships for those interested in the environment, animals or working with plants, trees and flowers. Their students regularly win awards and many study at level 3 (equivalent to 3 or 4 AS/A levels) leading to higher education, and go on to set up their own businesses or have fulfilling careers in the green sector.
They are home to the National Gardening Centre, the Institute of Horticulture and Gardening Which? magazine. They have five centres across London, which include a 30-acre country estate in Enfield and grounds in parks across London including Regent’s Park, Gunnersbury Park and Crystal Palace, and are equipped with wide-ranging plant collections, specialist laboratories and design studios, and facilities for teaching practical skills, such as horticultural machinery.
