Stem injection of Japanese Knotweed and other invasive plant species including Giant Hogweed and Rhododendron is recognised by many as the most ecologically sound and cost-effective method of treatment. The method involves delivery of a measured dose of herbicide into the centre of the plant rather than just the surface, which means it targets only the plants injected and there is no environmental risk of spray drift, run-off or contamination of watercourses and other sensitive vegetation.
